The core of this book features large format color photographs opposite lists of ideas to talk about and activities to try. For example, a photo of fall colored leaves features the caption "I like to see the leaves change color." The opposite page suggests "Let's talk about... Do you ever sit and watch the leaves fall from the trees?" and "Let's try... taking a drive to see the fall foliage." The introduction is written for caregivers with suggestions for successful communication when sharing this book. The postscript features resources for caregivers such as organizations, suggested reading, and craft resources.
The core of the book is well suited for adults and does not feel childlike or gender biased. The suggested topics and activities provide a variety so that a range of memory loss can be accommodated. Improvements that can be made are insuring that all photo captions are in black text on a white background and printing the book on board stock so that the pages lie flat and people with limited dexterity can turn the pages.
