'The Dragon' is an old book discussing dragon legends. There are many extracts of old sources, including some translated from Chinese. Modern readers might find the book a bit wordy and difficult to digest in places, but it is a lot more informative than most modern dragon books. If you're looking for information rather than eye-candy, this is a good book to read.

Book begins with the idea that tales of mythical monsters must have a basis in truth, because those non-english heathens can't possibly have more imagination than an englishman.

The book goes downhill from there.
