3332. Grand Delusion / Stalin and the German Invasion of Russia, by Gabriel Gorodetsky (read July 30, 2000). This is straight history, and to my surprise I thought told me more than I wanted to know about a most interesting subject. I guess I would prefer my history a little more "spiced up" than is this competent book.

There are some reflections on British life, but not many. Really this is most significant as an important source document for historians of the period. There is an extensive commentary which puts the diary into context and shows how Maisky was often swimming against the tide.… (plus d'informations)
