All the caveats I've noted in the past in regards to the study of Japanese aircraft carriers apply doubly to this enigmatic ship, which was a "white elephant" that never achieved any identity except as a sailing disaster. Very much an exercise in "what if," where you take what you can get.

While this is basically just a picture book the pictures provided are really lovely, though one has to wonder how accurate they really are, considering how little documentation there seems to be of this ship. That's the thing though, the last generation of Japanese carriers have received so little coverage one is happy to get anything.
