Aimed at pre-teen (British public school) boys between the world wars, this book has a predictable mix of patriotism, class-consciousness, and racism along with its not-very-informative scientific and engineering answers. Topics include 'why savages wear masks and put on war paint', 'the story of the Union Jack', 'dusky musicians', and 'who built Stonehenge' (someone before the "Celtic People, tall and fair, came to these islands", apparently)..
