"Sacrifice, the public worship of the gods through the offering of tangible and material objects, has been the essence of all religions from the very beginning of time. This is especially the case of Christianity, the true religion, with its foundations in the Mosaic Law. God, since the very beginning of His covenant with man, has required His people to offer sacrifices in acknowledgment of His supreme dominion over them and in reparation for the offenses committed against the divine law. It was not until the sixteenth century, with the proliferation of the Protestant errors, that groups of Christians began to reject the idea of a sacrificial Mass and to substitute in its stead a communion ceremony in which a community gathered together to worship God with prayer and song."… (plus d'informations)
