Carola Giedion-Welcker (1893–1979)

In the mid-1940s the bern-based benteli verlag published two books by carola giedion-welcker (1893-1979) on modern poetry. this essay on french poet guillaume apollinaire is an example of jan tschichold's (1902-1974) symmetric neo-classical style – definitely post-"new typography", but very fine and elegant. under the printed glassine jacket a silhouette designed by hans/jean arp, also reproduced inside the book in different colour. publisher's leaflet is laid-in announcing a collection of poems by arp (which was designed by tschichold, too) and a book on klee.… (plus d'informations)
