Pictures: cool. Writing: okay, could've been more informative. Captions of the photos: mostly useless.

I like cabins. I like the way that they can create the sense of o world apart. Or the ways that they can bring us closer to nature and the elements (while providing enough shelter to feel cozy).

It took me until I was half-way through this book to realize that every house in the book is available for rent on a website called Canopy & Stars! They're a European worker-owned cooperative.

The book is full of photos, with brief overviews of each cabin. To break things up, there are also essays by the staff at Canopy & Stars about topics relating to cabins—foraging, wilds, doing nothing, the psychology of time in nature, etc.

This book is relaxing, whimsical, and inspiring.

This is a perfect book for a housebound and overstressed resident of Covid World. The main feature is pictures (and descriptions) of great spas around the world, from all sorts of cultures but mostly very beautiful. Going through these is a great way to build daydreams for when we are back in ordinary time. Much of the rest of the book related to beauty products, and didn't grab me nearly as much. But those photos!

Some of the structures are really interesting, but most have only a few photos and no blueprints (which is what makes architecture books so fascinating to me).

Plenty of pictures and of beautiful, luxurious, small structures from all over the world, with a tiny bit of description. Very creative and clever in the designs, but lacking in interior details.
