Provides a basic overview of user-centered design principles and usability evaluation methods. Most information is gleaned from mainstream usability literature (books and websites), circa 1998 to 2003, without much additional content or interpretation. The book did little to address special issues or challenges associated with conducting usability studies within the context of library website design. It also offered little insight from the findings of previous library website usability research. The book fails to address how to interpret or apply the results of usability testing effectively. This is an extremely important and often challenging task, especially in a library context. The bibliography is extensive, but dated at this point. I do not recommend this book. There are other better and less expensive options available, including Steve Krug's Rocket Surgery Made Easy, Tom Lehman's Making Library Websites Usable, and Jeffrey Rubin's Handbook of Usability Testing.… (plus d'informations)
