Roman Genesis

The novel has the promises that I am looking for in a story-telling, young love, gay themed, coming out, high school issues etc. I was expecting myself to fall in love with the book because the book started so well. But I felt the depth of the issues was not covered properly. Too often, things happened too fast. Met, self-questioning, crush, fell in love, coming out, prom night, love trouble, heartache etc - somehow they were not covered in a believable form. Tears shed too often. A jock who seemed to be more submissive in bed than the quiet lover. Parents who were too ready to accept the boys' sexual orientation.
