Loved this! Finally found another author to add to my favorites list! Clean romance with a bit of suspense thrown in. Strong character development and the story flowed so naturally. I read the whole thing in one day—haven't done THAT in a while! I'll be looking for more of Caroline Fyffe's books.
Loved this! Clean reading with a slight Christian premise (not at all preachy or in your face, just barely there) and fast moving story-telling. This is only my second Caroline Fyffe book and can say I am now an official fan of this author.
This is a somewhat generic story of a restless cowboy Chase who comes to tell Jessie she's become a widow. Jessie panics because she is adopting a little girl and needs a husband for it to work. Of course, Chase comes to the rescue. This is all fine and good, but a couple of evil miners are also intent on harming Jessie. This and more contrivances keep Chase around, though Jessie gets a bit whiney about him leaving eventually, and there's a non-communication issue thrown in that is one of my least favorite tropes. It's not a bad read, but just okay.… (plus d'informations)
I thought about DNF'ing this book, but it's a fast read, so I finished it, hoping it would get better. I didn't like the first book of the series much, but this one was worse, right from the meet-cute (spoiler: it wasn't) for Lavinia and Rhett to the end of the story, such as it was. I'm done with this series.
