If you are looking for a nice book about WW2 describing the battle of Battaan...this ain't it. If however you want an interesting book about one man's view of WW2 and about the atrocities committed by the Japanese this book is for you. You need an idea of the background behind what was happening to get the full impact of the book. Col. Frazier does an excellent job in relating his experiences as well as the repercussions to his mental and physical health after the war.
