It's ok for a one-time informational read if you are interested in African magic, but the language and the style it is written was hard to get this book finished.

The theology was absolutely not my jam - a little too gender essentialist, a little too much "in the blood" talk - but there's a great deal of valuable insight here, including an excellent chapter on how different traditions do the same kinds of things in different ways and contexts.
