Pithily written account and descriptions of the flags of the so-called golden age of piracy, including brief histories of those pirates whose flags are recorded. Possibly the first appearance in (non-contemporary) print of the true origin of the term "Jolly Roger." Maybe too much truth for those who want to hang on to modern myths and misconceptions about the flags of the pirates.
