- Emily Foster graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in English. She has written and published a variety of work ranging from abstract poetry to Supreme Court briefs. However, her real passion is for fantasy fiction inspired by the unforgiving landscapes of her home in rural Colorado and the rugged people who live there. She is concerned that if she lists any pets or family members in her biography, it will somehow cause more of them to appear in her home.

The Drowning Eyes par Emily Foster
2.5 stars. This may require a reread [listen] at a later date. I did not vibe with this book. Even the amazing Robin Miles's narration couldn't save this book for me. I'm not even sure what was going on to be honest. Everything about the description should have made this book an excellent read. Perhaps it was just me. I will revisit some time in the future and perhaps my thoughts will change.
½Well written. An interesting world with a creepy payment for magic use, but I didn't really get the captain's story well enough to follow it. The main story is solid and good, the captain's story is unclear, and so feels like a random tangent that surrounds the main tale. I feel like there's a lot implied, but I'm not entirely sure what.
