Alright. So first off one of the major issues I had with this book was the trigger warnings. The author doesn't really give detailed warnings, and the one time she puts a warning on a chapter it's like, why? These books can be read as a standalone if you just want the romance element, but if you want the underlying story with the secret society it requires reading them all. And if I'm being completely honest, for me that was more appealing. I had some serious issues with the romance in this book. I mean don't get me wrong I love an age gap story, but not when for 50% of the book one of them is underage.
It was super weird at times to read how Caspian talked about Tatum, especially regarding his issues with guys who were closer in age to her. At some point in their childhood Caspian decided she was too pure for the world they lived in and he needed to protect her. But really, if I'm being honest he just makes her life worse. Like she would have been better off with other characters in the book in my opinion. The romance doesn't really feel like a love story it just feels like Caspian manipulated a young girl into being in love with only him and being naive she went along with it.
I am really interested in the secret society element that the author set up in this book. I hate that we didn't get a ton of answers about that and unfortunately I think at some point that means I will have to read the others in the series. I just hope the author lets go of the compulsion to mention any age differences between the characters like every 5 seconds. This trilogy has gotten better and better with each book. I have to say that this final one is the best one. As they saying goes..." Saving the best for last"! It has been quite the roller coaster journey for Makenna and Callisto. Everything that these two have gone through together has only made them stronger as a couple.

This book had so much going on with revenge and murder. Yet, Makenna and Callisto found time to still be intimate. I needed a tall, ice cold glass of water with these scenes. I was so invested in these two that I could not stop reading. This trilogy is a must read!… (plus d'informations)

This book picks up soon after the first book. So, you do need to read these books in chronological order. My feelings for Makenna were real. After the tragically she experienced, I was ready for her to find some happiness again.

While Cal was introduced in the first book, I felt that he was a mystery, and I did not really know too much about him. In this book, I got to see the man behind the mask. The chemistry these two shared between them is very hot but it is the emotions that really get me with these two. There is anguish, heartache, and love.

There is also some suspense element in this book. I can't wait to read book three and maybe hear Cal "growl" some more.… (plus d'informations)

Wow, the emotions that Makenna and Reid shared for one another is very strong. They were definitely felt through the pages of this book. It was a very physical relationship. There were emotions but I felt them the most towards the end of the story. This is also where I really felt like I was hooked by this book. Why I also felt more hooked towards the end of the story is because the story did feel a bit rushed to the point that I did not get that chance to experience the emotional side as much between Makenna and Reid until the one specific moment.

Looking forward to reading the next book in this series to better get to know Cal and see how he and Makenna interact with one another. From the few chapters towards the end that featured Cal, I know the next book is going to be darker and full of action. I am ready for it.… (plus d'informations)
