`That Pompey style' is on pages 161-66, celebrating Pompey's jubilee year and winning the First Division title for the first time
A programme to warm the heart and recall those happy days of 1966. Somebody has written in the score for the England - Uruguay match: Result 1-0! I don't think so. Also i don't recall Stepney being in goal against Mexico or Bell and Kidd playing.
1948/49: This is the first issue of this annual publication and shows the signs of wear and tear. There is an interesting two page article on Football dress, pages 122-123. I would like to have seen Black Rovers, Hackney play in 1869 in their 'black jersey with white skull and cross-bones on breast, black cap and stockings, and white knickerbockers'.
1958/59: Includes interesting articles on Football in China, Television and falling attendances, and Soccer in the comprehensive school. This edition is interesting as it reflects the last year of Divisions 3 North and South and shows which teams are to go into the new Division 4. Pompey escaped relegation from the 1st Division on goal average..
How times and rules have changed - p. 13 in 1966/67 edition `there has been no instance of the Substitute Rule being used by a manager in order to gain a tactical advantage over his team's opponents'.… (plus d'informations)
