The first English language text on traditional Chinese pediatrics. This book is both a primer for the American practitioner of Chinese medicine and also a guide for parents in the care of their children.The text has drawn together information from many sources including previously untranslated Chinese pediatric texts and nursing manuals. Not only are there detailed discussions of over thirty commonly encountered pediatric disorders but treatment plans are given which include the use of diet, Chinese herbs, Chinese infant massage, and acupuncture.Throughout the book emphasis is placed on an energetic as opposed to a materialistic understanding of pediatric disease and the author consistently counsels the minimum and least invasive intervention necessary to correct the problem.
