The Flood Girls: A Book Club Recommendation! par Richard Fifield
A bawdy book about good ole Montana broads plus the men (and boys) who love--and sometimes abuse--them. Take it along on your next softball tournament road trip.
I wish half stars were allowed; I'd actually give it 3 1/2.
I laughed most of the way through this book. The small town characters are cussed and low-down and I like how much the author obviously enjoys them and their mayhem. But there are plenty of plot problems. I was content to overlook them for most of the book. And then there is a sacrifice near the end that is a pointless plea to add pathos and meaning to the other characters' lives. It doesn't work and you should not have made that choice Mr. MFA Dumbhead. Recommended for the first three quarters, then lose the book.… (plus d'informations)
Great book. Crazy and sad with wonderful real characters. I wonder why he has not written any other books.
