It was a good book, I just found it confusing in places, I’m willing to try another chapter in the story.

From my experience, delighting in the Lord is rooted in one's faithfulness in His being and getting to know who He is.

Before trying to be a good Christian woman, I never had truly possessed any faithfulness to the Lord; I had been a secular woman. However, since I began trying to be a good Christian with the writing of my Christian blog, my faithfulness is now an attribute of my ever-increasing relationship with the Lord. I can call myself faithful with my basic unassuming service to the Lord and consistently walking with Him.

Being the Christian woman I've become, I've learned that when we receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, with that, the Holy Spirit becomes permanently present in our lives, and that we will receive what is written in GALATIANS 5:22-23 [NLT]:

[22] "But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
[23] gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!"

The extent of the completeness of these blessings all depends on our walking with the Lord and our conceding to His Spirit. The more that I've accepted the words of the Lord in my life, the more faithful I've become by searching for Him in prayer.

The instructions regarding this can be found in PSALMS 1:1-2 [NKJV]:

[1] "Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;"
[2] "But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law, he meditates day and night."

And in reading EPHESIANS 6:18 [NLT]:

"Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere."

Regarding us being righteous, we read the following in HABAKKUK 2:4 [NLT]:

"Look at the proud! They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked. But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God.

In obtaining and maintaining our faith in our Lord and Savior, as His children that one day He might speak to us and tell us what we find in MATTHEW 25:23 [NJKV]:

"His Lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.'"

Through the pages of his book, the author D. Richard Ferguson introduces his readers to who the Lord is by revealing some of His essential characteristics. The writing is designed to provide them a direction to follow to obtain a desire to know the Lord or rekindle a former passion for Him. Once the hunger for the Lord has begun, the enjoyment of the Lord will grow continuously, as will the delight of their being in a relationship with Him.

It should be pointed out that this is merely a sampling of what the author is offering in his endeavor, Deeper Knowledge of God, which dwells into the effect PSALMS had in his life. For wanting his readers to delight in the Lord being part and parcel of their lives, I've given Mr. Ferguson 5 STARS for his endeavor here.
