L. G. Estrella

I purchased this on a whim as it was included in a buy one/get one promotion and I thought the title was fantastic. Luckily so were the stories, which are amusing, silly, sweet and full of destruction all at the same time. I had not previously read anything by this author; although this is book 4.5 of a series it worked well as an introduction.

For myself, I think the humor underlying these stories is best enjoyed in smaller doses.
This was close to what I think of as the "written-down version of my D&D campaign". It's definitely not that simplistic, but does feel similar.

Everything is incredibly flat. There's no character depth or growth. The characters are all the same but with different flavors. The story ambles and never gets anywhere.

This was a two-in-one audiobook so this review goes for book two as well.
