Simon Pulse Romantic Comedies are always a fun read. These books are not necessarily the best written novels but the stories are always fun and you know you will get a happy ending. I think some adult romances could take a note from these books b/c they are characterized well which is much of the battle in writing any novel since you want your characters, for the most part, to be endearing and relatable.

There was not really anything to this story. Kylie lost weight and becomes confident enough to tell other people how to live their lives. Although she could relate to nerd type people, where she felt she could be so much better than them never came across clearly. Liked how honest and funny Kat was about her feelings with the treatment given to overweight people and how they are viewed by others and themselves. Enjoyed the concept of a reality TV show and wondered how close this was to the real life shows of today. Enjoyed Kat's reaction to how the viewers thought of her. Liked how they changed the living conditions bringing in the sister that was hated for one of the contestants. Thought that online Nick would have been more of a liar about himself.

I understand that being heavy takes a mental toll as well as a physical one but I was turned off by the way her weight was driven into me throughout the entire book. The blurb for the book states that she's popular, funny and a talented photographer but it never really seemed to dwell on those positive characteristics nor did it really feel as if she was actually making "the most of senior year." I continued to feel as if she was merely content to feel sorry for herself while everyone around her tried to help her accept herself. In fact, Kimberlee, the character considered Perfect, was actually more of a like able character to me. Whatever the case, the book was fine but not great. If you're looking for a quick read, this is probably for you.… (plus d'informations)
