Jack Eden

A surprisingly GREAT BOOK for gardeners! Full of good ideas you never thought of. The book does encourage "mini-gardening" which I'm against because I think crowding of vegetables is detrimental to a healthy crop, but in the spirit of the times when written, intensive, "mini-gardening" or "square-foot" gardening was a rage to encourage city dwellers into growing their own. The book is a treasure trove of practical techniques to overcome using less than ideal "inputs" such as planting with old seeds. There are a lot of "gardening guides" out there, repeating the same-old-B-S. This book is an original and well worth the effort to locate and purchase a copy if you are serious about growing. The author Jack Eden was a broadcast host on radio. This book compiles
various topics covered on his program and thus reflects actual situations his listeners found themselves in, a touch of reality often not found in gardening books that assume one is gardening in
pristine conditions. This is not an organic gardening book, but there is not a overwhelming emphasis on commercially formulated chemical fertilizers either. I enjoyed this book very much.… (plus d'informations)
