Purported to be written by a boy (aged around 8 to 16 in the stories)and pretty funny.

A good story. A young man who is not sure what he is going to do in life and a young lady who is sure collide. He ends up getting involved in a family business and the story is easy to read and entertaining.

I read this as a child in elementary school and loved it. It was one I reread multiple times. I recall laughing aloud in many places. I dare say I would react a bit differently now, but I bet I'd still like it. It was set in the Great Depression, so I wonder if children today would understand in the same way. My parents lived during the depression so I heard it discussed enough to know something about it even as a little kid.
