I received this book from a librarything.com giveaway.

The story was a little confusing when I first started it, but then it made since when you read more. It was a very quick read since you get so engrossed in the story.

It has a good plot twist that you don't see coming.

It does hint at some history at the beginning, but if you don't like history, don't worry, it adds substance to the storyline.

This book is very unusual and very likable. One man's quest to be a savior to unknown people is the cornerstone of the first half of the book. Jason Grae struggles with his faith in God until given a task as God's chosen instrument for renewing people's faith. Jason's despair at ever being good enough to carry out this task. He tries drowing himself in pills and depression but eventually learns that he likes being a hero to the people. Second half of the book is dedicated to a soldier coming to terms with what happened on tour of duty. The soldier fights tooth and nail to not to remember her experiences inspite of flashbacks and dreams otherwise. She only knows that remembering will not solve her problems but only create more to come. Each tale is told from unique perspectives on pain and suffering. As someone who suffers from mental illness, I can see how easy it is to stereotype these two people. They each fought their own battles from within and without. Read this story for yourself and decide.… (plus d'informations)

A quick read that packs one hard punch. This was an amazing short story to read with a perfect balance of blood and plot. I never wanted to put it down and finished it all at once. For many readers the beginning will seem out of place with the rest of the book, but don't worry, it will all be revealed in the end. This was a wonderful read and I highly recommend it for fans of horror suspense/thrillers.

Note: Though this book was a free gift from the author, the content of my review was in no way influenced by the gifting. The book speaks for itself and my review would have been worded just this way even if I'd gone out and bought it. I also give bonus points for Text To Speech enabling on Kindle format.... but that also wasn't a factor in the above review.… (plus d'informations)

The beginning of this e-book really threw me off because it deals with something that is historical. While it is still horrific, i am not really into history, so i was thinking oh no... but wait... it was a plot point that was crucial to the whole story. Once the tale was told and the story really got flowing, it was hard to stop for a break! The tension was just under the surface for about half the book, not knowing exactly where you are being led and then BAM! It hits you all at once and does not let go! This is a fantastic tale that i recommend to any suspense / thriller / horror / lover!!!

I received a free copy of this e-book in exchange for a review. I was not required to write a positive review, only an honest one.
