With eye-grabbing photography and a word-count of 53, this book will be popular with young car lovers. The text is simple and repetative-- "Some cool cars are old/ Some cool cars are new/ Some cool cars are red/ Some cool cars are yellow...." While the concept is good, there is a thrown-together quality about the overall package. The "Words to know" section at the front lists three: car, purple, yellow, which seems arbitrary. The pages that cover "Some cool cars are big/ Some cool cars are small" each show a picture of a car, but there is nothing next to the car that would provide context for scale. In short, the photography saves the day and will ensure circulation for libraries looking to build up their collection of car books for the youngest enthusiasts, but there's a lot that's sloppy about the presentation.
