This is a story about a little llama who experiences separation anxiety on his first day of school. As Llama Llama navigates his feelings of missing his mama, he learns that school can be fun and that mama always comes back. The book reassures young readers about the normalcy of feeling anxious and the love and security provided by their caregivers.

A really simple board book, perfect for teaching babies how to hold a book and turn the pages, and a perfect way to teach rhyming to toddlers. By the 10th time I read this, my daughter could finish each phrase.

You can't go wrong with Llama Llama. I especially like this one because it shows that it's okay to miss home and have mixed feelings even when you're with people you love. Also a good reminder that sometimes all you need to feel safe is a soft stuffy.

This Poetry book can teach readers about patience and shine light on bedtime struggles. This book tells the story about a Llama in his red pajamas going to bed. He is struggling with patience because he wants his mom but Mamma Llama is busy! I would recommend this book to K-2nd grade because of the little words on each page and lots of illustrations I know younger grades with enjoy.

The book is a great read for younger preschooler students and is one of the more popular children's books out there currently. The book follows Llama as he gets ready for bed to get tucked in by his mother. This book is a fairly easy read and introductory read for young children and is quite a fun read as well!

Anna Dewdney's beloved Llama Llama is growing up and learning to read! Throughout the school day , the teacher helps Llama Llama and the other children practice their letters, shows word cards, reads stories, and brings them to the library where they can all choose a favorite book. By the end of the day, Llama Llama is recognizing words and can't wait to show Mama Llama that he's becoming a reader!

Baby Llama turns bedtime into an all-out llama drama! Tucked into bed by his mama, Baby Llama immediately starts worrying when she goes downstairs, and his soft whimpers turn to hollers when she doesn't come right back. But just in time, Mama returns to set things right.

My kids both LOVE this story. It's about a little Llama getting ready and going to bed, but they're a little scared because they've called for their mama, but she gets sidetracked with a phone call. They get worked up and scream and yell for mama, and she thinks something has happened and drops the call and runs upstairs. The lesson is that mama is not always readily available to come to llama, but she's always close by. It's a sweet, endearing story and teaches children to read emotions, as Llama is very expressive with their facial expressions, especially when they're scared (something both kids point out when reading this story).

Both of my kids love/loved the Llama Llama books. Rosie particularly likes this one. I was having some issues with my vocals for a while and we found a lovely youtube channel with a woman who reads children's books (Shon's Stories) and she LOVES her rendition of this book, even more so than me! ;) This one follows llama and his mama on an afternoon errand to the store. Llama does not want to be there and basically has a tantrum in the middle of the store. Mama explains she doesn't love the idea that they have to do shopping either, but that she's grateful to be there with llama, and they shop together and have a treat afterward. I love that mama talks to Llama on their level and makes the experience more fun for Llama. Great little story, lots of fun listening to Shon read it too!
