Camilla De la Bédoyère

Random dog facts interspersed with lots of nice photos and illustrations. It's just so random it's a bit dull to read it for very long at a stretch. I ended up picking away at it a little at a time for over a month.

Also, the title assures us there are 100 facts, but the book actually includes extra facts in the captions and in bonus circles inserted throughout. I'm not sure whether to be happy for the bonus material or irritated by the lack of accuracy in the title.

I was a bit rattled to see a traditional name for female dogs dropped casually into one quiz question with no previous definition of the term. Some parents may prefer to not deal with that word in a book intended for children.

I ran across this AWESOME interactive book on Internet Archives website. This book makes learning so much fun with frog facts and photos, frog jokes, meanings of a few frog words, test your frog knowledge, a short princess and frog story, glossary of words, frog arts and crafts and even a recipe for a healthy green “frog” smoothie. Fun, fun, fun!
