This book is nicely laid out and promises to teach WordPerfect 6 for DOS in the shortest possible time. The Plasticoil Binding allows the book to lay open on a flat surface beside your computer. Each lesson consists of a two-page spread on facing pages. The left page presents a lesson. The right page provides illustrations keyed to the lesson. Information boxes contain additional information, including shortcuts, hints, and tips. Quick reference bars display keyboard short-cuts.

Lessons 1-21 cover the basics, such as, menu navigation, program settings, getting help, creating a document, saving a document, opening a document, selecting text, moving text, copying text, deleting text, printing a document, setting margins, justification, setting tabs, indenting text, changing fonts, changing styles, revealing codes, creating footers, creating headers, creating footnotes, checking spelling, setting up columns, and working with tables.

Lessons 22-29 deal with advanced topics: creating a table of contents, outlining, doing mail-merge, printing labels, printing envelopes, finding text, replacing text, and sorting text.

A complete keyboard reference guide can be found in the appendix.

Bottom Line. This book delivers what it promises -- a fast and easy way to learn WordPerfect 6 for DOS.
