This book is VERY unsettling as a college textbook. The format itself is a Mise en abyme, which is disconcerting.

Once the style is understood and accepted as a full part of the content of the book, this volume reads well, fast and with pleasure. Beware of the large format that requires a table to be opened comfortably.
