I think this is a useful book in that it addresses specifically the notion of democracy in Greece. Greek culture during the fifth and fourth centuries reached their intellectual zenith; subsequently, the Greeks profoundly impacted ideas of justice in the American Revolution.
The best in the series—Athens—the birthplace of western civilisation. The growth of Athens, its leadership of Greece, and then the treacherous attack by the Spartans, financed by Persia!
