This book contained some really great advices for surviving under some extreme situations. It deals with Arctic, desert, jungle and sea terrains but these advices can also be applied on camping.
It deals with some basic stuff a person must be able to do if he's found in the wilderness. These include orientation, finding water sources, food sources, providing first aid, building a shelter and much more.
I don't know if I'll ever need to use all the things contained in this book but it was a really good read and the things I learned deffinently worthed my time.

(Klappentext) : Shadow of the dove follows the lives of two people who were once deadly enemies but who now share a mutual understanding and a commitment to peace. It traces the violent path each accepted; details the famous incident when each would have killed the other if they could; and culminates eighteen years later when they met again and put their pasts to rests. Souhaila Andrawes was born into a Christian Palestinian family and grew up in war-torn Lebanon. Well educated and distressed by the plight of her people, she began work for a Palestinian magazine which was run by a PFLP member. She was soon recruited as a terrorist by Wadi Haddad and in October 1977 she was one of four Palestinian terrorists who hijacked Lufthansa Flight LH181 from Palma to Frankfurt. The hijack failed, leaving Souhaila with seven bullets in her body. She was taken to hospital and nursed back to partial health before being thrown in a Somali jail, where as an isolated female prisoner the treatment she received defied belief. She was released after a year because of her deteriorating health. Souhaila was taken to a Czechoslavakian hospital, where she met and fell in love with the worlds foremost terrorist, Carlos "the jackal'. She later disappeared in search of a new life, although both the German and the Italian police had warrants for her arrest. Barry Davis was one of the two SAS men involved in liberating the hijacked aircraft in Mogadishu. He returned home to a hero's welcome and continued his service with the SAS. Both of their lives have changed dramatically since the Mogadishu incident. Souhaila continued to support the Palestinian activists, but adopted a non-violent stance and eventually married a man of peace with whom she found sanctuary in Norway. Barry was reintroduced to Souhaila in 1995 by a Norwegian newspaper. It was a meeting that was to change both their lives. Shadow of the dove provides a unique insight into the minds and ideals of opposing forces who have now chosen to accept their differences, appreciate each other's viewpoints and strive for peace.… (plus d'informations)

This book cost more than is necessary. Nothing in there you can't get out of a good spy novel, and more entertainingly! (No offense to those in the field.)
