As a self-proclaimed 'food worshipper' I feel like I have just (fairly) had the mick taken from me... ;)

This book is designed to give you the information necessary to bluff your way into being an expert on chocolate. I found this book to be informative and entertaining. It gives you information on some of the history of chocolate and its making. Some good information on chocolate makers and chocolatiers. Especially found the section on quotations to be quite humorous. Good enjoyable read for fellow chocoholics.

I’ve generally regarded the ‘Bluff your way’ guides as good introductions to a subject, which despite their attempts to be humorous also teach you quite a bit. I did learn quite a few interesting things from this book, but somehow it didn’t seem to be as good as others in the series as it seemed to put the emphasis on how to seem as if you know more than you do (which I suppose is what bluffing is!) rather than on giving you some good basic knowledge. So, OK, but not the best in the series.… (plus d'informations)

The Bluffer's Guides are very humorous in general. The Chocolate edition was not quite as catchy as some of the other titles in the series though. I stopped and started several times, but it may simply be due to the formatting of the digital edition I read. As a self-professed UN-foodie, I wasn't deeply concerned with many of the details Davey offered. (I'm sorry, Mr Davey!) At the last go I finished the book, and it was indeed an amusing and educational read.
