I love singing with my grandchildren and the kids at school and church. This cute book is written so you can sing the tune from "The Wheels on the Bus" with the story. A trip to the playground and all the activities that entails are written about and illustrated with bright, vibrant colours. This book promotes outdoor play, playing with others and having fun. The repetitive words and the familiar tune will have children "reading" and singing along with you in no time. The text is age appropriate and easy to read. I am still humming the song long after reading it to my grandson this weekend. This book would make a wonderful addition to a family library or a pre-school or kindergarten classroom. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book via Netgalley.… (plus d'informations)

Very appealing illustrations can't make up for an uninspired, highly repetitive text. The publisher should take the illustrations and give them to another author to write a better story. Repetition is a common device in children's books, and done well (such as Dr. Seuss) it makes the story memorable and fun. This story is uninspired and anything but fun. The illustrations rate at least four stars--the story rates zero.

The illustrations were excellent, colourful and clear, if slightly childish.

There was a small issue of language here though, as none of the parents who read the book along with me, had any idea what a teeter-totter was, and everyone ended up substituting the word see-saw. Similarly, frisbee would have fitted the rhyme better than disc towards the end. Never mind, small niggles really, my grandson loved it and that's what counts.… (plus d'informations)
