In this film Australian nun ven.Robina Courtin teaches in her own down-to-earth style about dealing with hardships by transforming your mind through the practice of Dharma.

When we are not able to change the outer situations in life for the better there is no point in getting angry at the outer circumstances. When problems are unavoidable, that is the moment to practice mind training. Robina teaches us about "liking problems like you like ice cream", as Lama Zopa calls it, in order to transform them into your practice. his 3 DVD set is the recording of a weekend retreat with Venerable Robina Courtin at Land of Medicine Buddha August 15 – 17 2008, called, “Transform your mind, Transform your life.” The main topic of the retreat was the text, Eight Verses of Thought Training. Buddhism teaches that all happiness and suffering come not from outside circumstances, but from the mind. These teachings in eight verses give us tools to overcome our negative habitual tendencies of anger, greed and selfishness and to deal with difficult situations. The Venerable Robina Courtin has a dynamic and punchy style - 'very tasty' is her favorite comment - and this talk shows it all. Fast paced and emphatic, Ven Robina speaks with clarity and wisdom of Buddhism and its role in dealing with stress in a troubled world.

Ven. Robina has been an ordained Buddhist nun in the Tibetan tradition for 30 years. She is Australian born and since becoming a nun she has worked as an editorial director and editor. She travels extensively giving teachings and bringing the Dharma to people all over the world, both in and out of prison. She is the Director of the Liberation Prison roject, an international organisation that works with 3,500 people in 500 prisons and institutions in America and Australia. Buddha House was foundd in 1981. It is a member of the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT), which provides integrated education through which people's minds and hearts can be transformed into their highest potential for the benefit of others, inspired by an attitude of universal responsibility. FPMT is based on the Gelugpa tradition of Lama Tsongkhapa of Tibet (headed by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama) and as taught by our founder Lama Thubten Yeshe and spiritual director, Lama Thubten Zopa.
