I put up with the awfulness of tense. Often, in the same sentence he'd use present tense and past tense. But when the women began throwing themselves at his hero, I hated it. Yet I kept on because I was interested in the ideas, but when even the intelligent women became helpless I'd had enough. Too bad because the sci fi aspects were intriguing.

This is another very well written thriller featuring Alex Cave, our famous and beloved Geologist. This book is the fifth one on the series. Although they are stories that can hold on their own independently, in a couple of times there are references to situations that happened in the previous books. So I would recommend that you read the previous books in the order they were published, so you can savor this one better. The sequence is: "Dead Energy", followed by "Cold Energy", and then "Read Energy", "Gravity" and finally "Pandora's Eyes". You will not regret it. Excellent and very entertaining reading, intelligent plots and very enjoyable reading.
In this particular book, one of the four alien artifacts that were found in previous books is in orbit, and was modified to collect space debris that is flying in orbit of Earth. When this device was activated, an Artificial Intelligence named Pandora that was dormant detected the device. The crew of this alien spaceship that was sleeping for millions of years is awakened. They contact humans and the adventure really begins to pick up. Alex Cave and his best friend Okana face the most challenging situation they ever had.
This is a great book and I recommend it to the permanent library of all science-fiction readers. They will not be disappointed.

This is another brilliantly written story, sequel of Dead Energy, Cold Energy and Red Energy. If you thought that the story of our hero, an ex-CIA agent named Alex Cave, could not get better, you were completely wrong. The author keeps raising the bar, as if it was possible at all.
In this episode, Alex Cave is invited into a meeting in Iceland where a very strange geological event is observed. Asked to investigate, he goes with his best friend Ocana. In their way they meet other explorers that are also trying to see what is causing the observed behavior. All indications lead to the conclusion of the existence of a device that when active can control gravity on objects placed directly above it. But the bad guys beet them and get the device first. While trying to retrieve the object that was activated and was causing major problems, Alex's new family is kidnapped and now, besides having to recover the device and save the world, he also needs to save his family.
As usual, we can see that a lot of research was done by the author in order to create a very intelligent and believable plot.
You will read the book on the edge of your seat. Every turn of a page brings more excitement and it is guaranteed that you will be entertained for hours. It took me about eight hours to read the whole book.
I can hardly wait to read more Alex Cave's adventures! You definitely should try James Corkill's books. His intelligent plots are here to stay. I just wonder when his stories will attract someone in Hollywood so we will be able to enjoy all those actions in a big screen!

This is a brilliantly written story, that develops in a fast pace . If you thought that the story of our hero, an ex-CIA agent named Alex Cave, could not get better after Cold Energy, you were completely wrong. In this episode, Alex Cave is trying to recover an alien device and a spaceship in a desert island at the Bering Sea when things get out of control and the device and one member of his team are captured and transferred to an underground facility close to Yellowstone. Playing without knowing how to properly control the alien device ended up producing catastrophic consequences. If this is not bad enough, Russian mob leader wants revenge on Alex for killing his brother and captures his nephew and it is up to Alex to save his friend/family and prevent the extermination of human race over and over again...

You will read the book on the edge of your seat. An initial heartbreaking love story develops in the middle of the action and at the end it might have a happy ending after all. I guess we will find out about that in the next episode. Every turn of a page brings more excitement and it is guaranteed that you will be entertained for hours. It took me about nine hours to read the whole book. I just hope this is not the end of Alex Cave adventures! I can hardly wait to read more! You definitely should try James Corkill's books. His intelligent plots are here to stay.

This book was written by James M.Corkill and I received an electronic version for reviewing. I was not requested to provide a positive review. Opinions expressed here are my own.
