I was given this ARC of book one in exchange for an honest review. I first thought it was a YA story, but it was so much more and I cried through parts as it was an AWESOME story and highly recommend it to all ages but not young children as there is violence and abuse. Sixteen year old Emmeline Belrose had dreamed about her death as long as she could remember and she'd awakened the household often with her screaming. The dreams had been of her in a car drowning with no one to save her. Then she met Charlie who said he was there to protect her as he had visions too. I can't wait to read the next book!… (plus d'informations)

This is the third book in this wonderful series. The characters in this series are connected to animal spirits. For those who love to read Native American stories, then this is the series for you. These teens have done battle before. They have been fighting the evil spirit of Machayiwiwi, who was at one time a very powerful medicine man. The teens are guided and helped through visions given them by ancient chiefs.

This book is full of real life. Each of the teens deal with personal things in their own life. There are so many things happening that any reader will find something t identify with. There are many teens who deal with divorced or alcoholic parents. These teens deal with their feelings of love and jealousy. This author really knows how to keep the story real, but include the elements of magic in just the right does.

This book doesn’t have teens just jumping in trying to fight the evil. You see them actually live their life and get involved in things that aren’t always right or best for them. In other words it is todays reality. If you haven’t read the other two books in the series you need to do just that. Make sure you have plenty of tissues handy. The author doesn’t sugar coat her plot. People die and teens must deal with it. Pull up a chair and prepare to read a book you can’t put down. Join Emme, Ollie, Charlie, Bets and their friends for an adventure you won’t soon forget.

Honestly...
This book was slow and bogged down in my estimation.
Don't get me wrong, the story was nice, enjoyable even. However, it needs to be reedited... desperately.
There is a lot of information given that didn't do anything for the storyline but make me actually stop reading and wonder (sometimes aloud) whether the author thought I was a complete idiot.
She defined and explained EVERYTHING
While this is great for a book about a specific niche using their jargon (i.e. a book about surgeons or chemical engineers) it didn't really appeal in this forum.
So I am somewhat disappointed, BECAUSE it is a great story, to know that people who ran into the same problem, with less fortitude than I, most likely put it down and never picked it up again.

WOW! That is the first thing that pops into my mind when I think of this book. I did not read the first one, but I will. This book can be read as a stand alone. That is what I really liked about this book. There was enough information about events that took place in the first book that I didn't feel lost. I started the book and read it until I finished it in one sitting. It was that good. The imagery and use of the senses puts the reader right there with the characters. At one point something happened and I gasped and covered my mouth. My husband heard and saw me and ran over to see if everything was okay. He saw I was reading the book on my computer and said, "Oh it must really be good." He was definitely right. I loved each and everyone of the characters. The book left me wondering who the evil one was. Now I'll need to wait for book three in the series all I can say is hurry up with the next one.
I received an e-book copy to help facilitate my review. The thoughts expressed here are my own.
