Billy Conn

I read book 1 and thoroughly enjoyed it. I enjoyed this book also although I felt the story could have moved a little faster. Again we see the horrific effects of child abuse and paedophile rings and this is something that has to be brought to the attention of the general public. I still feel uneasy about the relationship between the twins; it doesn't seem quite natural for brother and sister no matter how close they are. I thought this was a great book. That it is based on real experiences is horrifying. Child abuse is always hard to read about and the fact that it could be happening to children in the street where you live is scary. We all know about paedophile rings but tend to believe they are used by celebrities and people far removed from our own ordinary lives. This books tells us we are wrong; the friendly, helpful man next door is just as likely to be involved as any drug addicted pop star. It brings home to us the dreadful cost to the children who are preyed upon. I would have given 5 stars but the (consenting adult) sex scenes were a bit too detailed for me.
