This book is good for children at beginner and intermediate levels. It goes through the life of Cesar Chavez and his journey in fighting for farmers' rights. He led a protest that lasted for 5 years and ensured that farmers got paid more and had good working conditions. I would introduce this book to my classroom to help my students feel inspiration and empathy with Cesar Chavez's story.

This is an early reader's introduction to biographies, history and sports. With graphic novel-type illustrations, interesting facts in sidebars, and 'more information' lists in the back of the book, you can find out more about this interesting time in history and this smart, heroic man. There are websites, places to visit and a glossary. Even though it is a short biography, a child could get enough information for a report and to pique their interest to read more.

Some people call him the smartest baseball player of all time. Moe Berg could speak twelve languages—and make up signs on the baseball diamond. How did this major league catcher go on to become an American spy in World War II?
