I would have liked if they spent more time together instead of just being told that the couple loved each other for years.

This has to be an all time favorite Julie Christianson romcom! I loved returning to Abieville for Olivia’s story. From the first, this book had me laughing out loud in what started out as a harmless dare. I fell in love with both Olivia & Hudson and couldn’t put it down. Their story is a favorite and had me laughing, swooning, & sighing in satisfaction wishing the story could continue after I turned the last page.

As a triplet, Olivia “Liv” feels like she’s unseen. She’s determined to be successful like her other siblings. When she finds herself jobless, she returns home to Abieville where she learns of an opening for a manager position at the Beachfront Inn. Unfortunately, the guy who rejected her two years ago has been hired for the position. He offers her a temporary job, and as they work close together, their feelings grow, but what happens when the month is up?

I loved Liv & Hudson! I loved their character arcs. Both Liv & Hudson are leery of relationships for various reasons. They’re both thoughtful, kind people who just needed to find the right person. I loved seeing them grow in their relationship. I enjoyed Liv recognizing her abilities and feeling seen, especially by Hudson.

Hudson’s just the cutest guy! I loved the way he cares for Liv. He’s willing to read Brontë! He’s so surprised by anyone doing something nice for him because he’s used to being used. I loved how he became more confident in love and willing to sacrifice for it. These two are just perfect for each other and I loved watching them be playful, supportive, and romantic.

Not only are there funny, laugh out loud moments, but there’s a sweet story of overcoming past hurts, abandonment and pain. It’s a heartfelt, swoony romcom that’s a must read if you enjoy closed door romances. Though part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. However, it’s so much more enjoyable seeing beloved characters from other books like Link & Hadley, Tess, Nat & Brady, Big Mama, and others. Now I can’t wait for Darby’s story. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the author. All opinions are my own and voluntarily provided.

Julie Christianson is one of my favs! I love devouring her books. She writes such relatable, tug on your heartstrings characters you can’t help but cheer for! It’s easy to fly through the pages then want to go back and read her books again. Faking the Fall is a delightful movie star/hometown girl, funny, fake dating, second chance romance with all the feels of Fall in a Hallmark-like small town.

James Lincoln never imagined when he accompanied Hadley Morgan to an audition for America’s Hidden Talent that he’d be the one walking away with a Hollywood contract. Now five years later, successful superhero movie star Lincoln James’s returning to Harvest Hollow to convince the woman he loves and left behind, to save his career by posing as his fake girlfriend. After a disastrous encounter with a photographer, his Hollywood agents are hoping a fake relationship with a public marriage proposal and breakup will get his sympathetic fans back in his corner. The only trouble is the last thing he wants from Hadley is anything fake.

Hadley Morgan begged her handsome best friend “Goober” to come to an audition with her hoping to prove she’s capable of being adventurous and spontaneous. Instead, her best friend left her with a broken heart and an annoying boyfriend who just broke up with her for the third time. When famous movie star Link shows up on her doorstep with a proposal to be his fake girlfriend, she has to set some ground rules so her poor heart isn’t broken again when he leaves.

I loved HadLink “so muchness!” They have such a great connection. Each secretly pined for the other for years and I loved that despite the “fake dating,” there was real depth and genuineness to their relationship. Both experienced profound losses that they’re now mature enough to share. I enjoyed their sneaking around pumpkin patches, movie theaters, and clock towers getting footage for the fake relationship. I loved that James/Link always left money around for others. I loved Hadley’s dad and meatloaf nights. James’ mom and the dogs. Pippa, Sam, & the Lud! All the characters, even the side characters were endearing, except for a few rotten apples.

Other things I loved:
Had/Goober
Hadley’s list of rules
Hadley overcoming fears
Dolores
Magnetron/Regency superhero roles
Hadley’s mom’s dress
The clock tower
Hiking Boney Mountain
Texting
Perfect leaf pile
Their first kiss
Taylor Swift songs & high school choirs

It’s honestly one of the best movie star romances I’ve read with lots of heart, swoony romance, humor, and characters you want to hug. A delightful, standalone, must read, sweet romcom & the fourth in the Sweater Weather series, which is quickly becoming an all time favorite. Highest of recommendations! I received an advanced complimentary copy from the author. All opinions are completely my own and voluntarily given.

One of the things I love about Julie Christianson’s books is they always make me smile. I just can’t help it. Whether it’s those swoony romantic kisses, or the laugh out loud awkward situations the characters find themselves in, she always delivers a memorable story. Since reading That Time I Kissed My Brother’s Best Friend, I couldn’t wait to read Natalie’s and Brady’s story. It’s the grumpy/sunshine, best friend’s little sister, second chance romance I’ve been waiting for!

Natalie is the sunshine to Brady’s seriousness. He’s not grumpy per se, but has a lot on his mind. After assisting the local vet for years, it’s assumed Brady will take over the clinic once he goes to vet school. But, he has a secret passion he’s been hiding if only he had the courage to truly follow his dream. He also has another secret and that’s his full flung crush on his best friend’s little sister Natalie. When she comes to town for her brother’s wedding, memories of their last kiss replay in his mind, but he doesn’t want to lose his heart when she leaves again.

After nursing school, Natalie took a job clear across the country in California. She wanted to leave the small town she grew up in for a fresh start and to be closer to her brother and his soon to be wife. Her only regret is leaving Brady. Though the sparks fly whenever they’re around each other, she doesn’t want to risk her heart knowing she’ll have to return to California. But, when she sees Brady again, it’s hard to get the handsome, sweet guy with a tender spot for animals out of her mind. Not to mention that amazing kiss they shared. Will she risk her heart to go after what she wants?

I loved Natalie & Brady! They were so cute together. I love the way they could share their deepest thoughts and dreams. There were so many swoony moments as they try to keep their growing feelings secret. I have to say the storage closet was my favorite scene. I also loved Big Mama and her rehearsal dinner poem. With such adorable characters and a sizzling romance, this book is definitely a favorite.

If you enjoy funny, sweet romcoms with memorable small town characters and lots of heart, highly recommend this book and the entire series. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the author. All opinions are completely my own and voluntarily given.
