I find that often in my prayer life, I hit a slump. I pray, but then at times feel like I am just repeating the same thing over and over, or its more of a bless so and so, etc... I am always excited to get a new book with a new twist or new ideas on how to pray for those I love. I know God never gets tired of listening to my prayers, but there are times when I need to really get a new perspective on what to pray about.

This book is a great way to get started praying for your grandchildren if you are not doing that consistently yet. What things may be affecting their lives that you can pray about? Their relationship with God, their parents, their friends? Maybe that their home will be a safe haven, they will live without secrets, honor God and share Jesus? These just name a few of the many prayers this book consists of. Steve and Annie have compiled stories from their childhood, their children, and grandchildren along with prayers that coincide with those stories to help you better know how and what to pray for your grandchildren. Since I have younger children, I am also praying these prayers for them along with my grandchildren.

I used this book by praying two or three prayers daily. The Chapmans have also included Scripture references to go along with the prayers as an encouragement to our hearts. I would personally recommend this book as an asset to your devotional life, or possibly just to pick up on occasion during the day to say a prayer. Our children and grandchildren are growing up in a very challenging world and praying for them can accomplish great miracles in their lives. It is the best method of support we can give them.

I was blessed with a copy of this book from the Harvest House Publishers in exchange for my honest opinion. I was not required to review positively.

I found this book sitting on the coffee table of my in-law's family room. I have a good relationship with them for which I am very grateful, and I wonder how many of the books scattered about the coffee table are left out for the benefit of myself and my husband.

With a title containing the words "hot topics", you'll figure that it is aimed toward younger couples. I picked it up and flipped through the pages. It brings up some very good points, but it is hindered by archaic beliefs. I'll concede that in some families, the man is definitely the head of the house. But even as a Christian, I refuse to acknowledge that he is, by virtue of gender, granted that position, especially since my paternal grandmother and my mother have been the heads of their respective families, whether they acknowledge it or not. Are we, as women, supposed to treat men as stupid creatures, and trick them into thinking that they are the unwavering head of the family?

Not only does this book unquestioningly place the man at the head of the family, but his wife is supposed to turn to him for spiritual guidance. I am sorry, but I do not need my husband to validate my faith, and I do not want my daughters feeling that they need a man to verify whether or not their beliefs are correct.

On the positive side, my favorite point brought up in this book is the fact that women seem to expect all sorts of romantic gestures from men without ever thinking of providing men with romantic gifts or thoughts. Not to say women never put on romantic airs for their husbands, but it is not expected of us while it is so heavily expected of them.

All-in-all, it is very much what one would expect from a book co-written by a Christian couple. Not bad, but not extra-ordinary. You can preview this title in Google Books to see whether or not it is for you.

I enjoyed the book, wasn't just about hunting but about life and his relationship with God and family. showing that bringing the big game home isn't the only thing but what you get out of the hunt besides trophy and meat.
