Andy moves to London for a new start, but his bad luck follows him regardless. He is stuck in a loop of drinking out and getting drunk, confronted about his behaviour, promising never to get drunk again, and drinking out and getting drunk. The book is written in the present tense so readers read the narrative in real-time. A personal pleasant way to read since nothing in the future can be foreseen and readers learn what happens at the same time as the characters. This means readers can follow Andy's journey investigating why he wakes up to find a bed on fire, and what happened. The story is mildly explicit with various characters to follow.

I almost never give a short more than three stars but I loved this story. The beginning list was interesting and the last list had me laughing! The entire story is absolutely charming. Strongly recommend! It is free on Prolific Works

Tom Caval writes very funny books within a gay context. His books are what my mother would call "light and frivolous," and that's not a bad thing. There are times in this crazy world, when all we want to do is get lost in a good book. I have read many of Caval's books, and enjoyed them all. Barcelona appealed to me because the city is one I want to visit. Even more so now that I have read Til Barcelona Do Us Part. I will say that I found Matteo's jealousy and insecurity a bit off-putting. This is not a man I particularly want to have in my life. That said, the ups and downs of his relationship with Erik came across as very real--much like my own relationships over the years. I don't want to give away too much of the story line. Read the book and judge for yourself if you'd like either Erik or Matteo as friends. But Barcelona--ah Barcelona. The city shines through in all its Gaudi glory. As a literature major, I would not categorize this as great lit, but it is a fun read. Maybe even a great beach read while you're lounging on the sand at Sitges. Full disclosure: I received my copy of this book as an ARC (Advance Reader Copy) with the promise that I would review the book honestly.… (plus d'informations)
