I found this picture book to be confusing and a little frightening for the kids. A small boy and his Irish setter are alone on the Giant's Causeway in Ireland as the tide is coming in. The talking setter is urging the tired boy to keep walking back toward land, but the tide overtakes them, first getting them wet, then dunking the boy completely. The dog hurts its leg, and they get separated. It gets dark, and the boy fears Finn MacCool is after him. Eventually the boy hears a voice calling him and wakes to find himself on the stairs at home. I did appreciate the watercolor illustrations, but otherwise wouldn't recommend it.
