I liked that this book was focused on characters who weren't expecting to fall in love and who fought their feelings for as long as they could. In the beginning I wanted to shake the characters for being so quick to judge and make assumptions about each other. They both held on to those perceptions for a lot of the book. However, their attraction to each other was undeniable. Everyone around them knew what was going on long before the main characters did.

Some of those other characters have big roles to play in this story, they are from previous books in the series. At times it would be nice to know those stories and give context to them and their stories as a part of this one, but it isn't necessary to understand and follow this story.

There were a few problems with pacing and some inconsistencies with how much the author describes things, but neither of those take away from the story. If grammar errors bother you while reading this probably isn't the best book for you. There were a lot of extra or missing words; misspellings; sentences that are poorly written; etc. Had these things been fixed, I would have given the book a higher rating. There were too many of them, it made the book seem a little jarring.

This was a sweet romance, no language or graphic sex. Scenes like that were only implied (Ex. Talking about a hotel room being booked for later) There was passionate kissing that could be offensive to people who want a completely clean romance.

It ends with a happily ever after and wraps up a little too quickly in my opinion. The end made it feel more like an instant romance that didn't have enough time to develop. It was a little too clean the way it wrapped up, not messy enough to make their happily ever after feel deserved. There wasn't much work put into the relationship.

I struggled to connect with the main characters, the secondary characters were far more interesting (in my opinion), maybe that's why I'm more critical about this story than I usually would be. It wasn't a horrible book, I still enjoyed reading it and read it quickly, I just don't think it was the right book for me.

A beautiful, sweet love story. Two lonely people brought together by an orphaned child who will steal your heart. Thoroughly enjoyed this read. Well-rounded characters, a lovely plot and a beautiful setting. This is a gentle romance and a story of rediscovery that will bring a tear to your eye and a smile to your face. Well done Miss Callen!

SENSUALITY RATING: No PROFANITY; No SEXUAL ENCOUNTERS; No Euphemistic "CODE WORDS

GENRE: Modern day; Clean romance

SETTING: Bluebell Falls Ranch in Montana.

CENTRAL FEMALE CHARACTER: PETA DIXON – controlling; experienced cowgirl in everyway; not married.

CENTRAL MALE CHARACTER: GARRETT ROSS – ranch foreman who is very experienced working a ranch; protective; honest with the exception…..

SYNOPSIS: She returned from her vacation not looking like a cowgirl. He was mistaken because of the way that she was dressed. Surely, she could not own this ranch. But, looks can be deceiving and he learns while watching the way she handles a horse. It is a struggle of wills between a ranch owner and her fill-in ranch foreman.

WHAT I LIKED: Hal knows even if they don’t. And, Ivy knows.

WHAT I DID NOT LIKE: Romance drags too much.

RATING: (4) stars BECAUSE the plot is wonderfully CLEAN but the romance drags.
