This book is actually structured as a dictionary, and I picked it up in a library as after browsing it reminded me a book by Bruno Munari on the "hand signals" used by Italians (I found often myself explaining to foreign colleagues what they meant).

In this case, it is a dictionary of "current culture" verbal gestures (e.g. from "ammanigliato", to "lottizzato", to "tenere famiglia").

As it is from 1993, some of the cultural references would be obscure also to many Italians under 40, also if they keep using them (e.g. "fantozzi"), but others have been with us since much, much longer (e.g. "baciapile", "gattopardo")

Quite enjoyable- would be glad to find a more recent edition (as I was based abroad from the late 1990s, and anyway I do not watch TV, I lost most of the current cultural references in Italy)… (plus d'informations)
