Courte biographie
We are Lily Cahill, a group of women who met in a writers group and bonded over our love of books, romance, and finding excuses to dress up and go on lady dates. And sexy guys. We definitely bonded over a love of (ogling, gossiping about, and writing) sexy guys. With our talents combined, we created a series blending sensuality, sci-fi, and a retro mountain setting. We all live in Denver, and between us we have six dogs, three cats, and one baby.

In the first novella of the Alpha Bear Princes series, a rival clan of bears have murdered the emperor of the bear shifter community, so the empress has no other choice but to send their four sons away to live in secret without any knowledge of who they truly are. The young princes can only return and claim their birthright once they have made a successful life for themselves, and they must have found their mate.
Thirty years later…
Kay Hennessey awaits Chase, her ex-boyfriend, at a hotel bar. Even though she’s an intelligent, career-driven woman, she believes she’s lacking in the beauty department, and her fragile self-esteem falls even lower when she realizes Chase stood her up. Then she sees Hudson Royce, a gorgeous and successful real estate CEO, across the bar. But a short, chunky woman like her couldn’t hope to attract a man like him. Or so she thinks.
At first sight, Hudson knows the woman is his mate. As a bear shifter, he can sense it, and he’s completely enamored with her. After a wonderful night together, a misunderstanding drives her away, but Hudson always get what he wants—and he won’t let Kay avoid him for long.
I really enjoyed this book. Both characters seem to be genuinely good people with flaws like everyone else. Kay’s confidence grows, and Hudson learns he can be loved for who he is, not what’s in his bank account.
The story flowed smoothly, but I wish it had been longer to better tie up some plot points (such as, Kay’s relationship with her parents). There were some typos, which were a little distracting, and I found it odd that Hudson referred to his adoptive parents as “stepparents.”
Anyway, it’s a great story, and I’d love to learn more about his brothers in the later books.

If you like shifter romance tropes (e.g. instant fated love, sex on the first date, heteronormativity) then you'll probably enjoy this more than I did. I actually liked the plot a lot more than the romance itself, so there's that.

Lilah does not like football players because of her past. Riley is going to help her overcome her aversion to football players. She is also is art professor for the summer semester.

I liked the characters. I enjoyed the story as Lilah goes from deep dislike to love. Riley changes also with Lilah's influence. He starts to see other possibilities for his life. Proofreading could have been better.

I plan on reading the rest of the series. This is a good start for it.

The story is about a young reporter, assigned to investigate why a wild piece of land was so important for the mysterious B3 conglomerate. The search leads Skye to Marcus Sinclair, the handsome billionaire who was interested in buying it. They agree on an evening together, in which Marcus is supposed to answer all her questions. Both can feel the attraction and while Skye was trying to act professional and get answers, Marcus was trying to disclose as little as possible about B3 and in the same trying to seduce her. Even if they have a common understanding that this was just a simple fling, they will realize it can become much more.

The focus of the story is their relationship, we find out little about B3. We only know they are very rich people, able to shape shift into bears. Marcus wanted to build a special private retreat for the group, a place where they could be free, hoping to restore his reputation. He did not need any distractions so he tried as much as possible to keep on a casual level the feeling towards the young journalist. Still, he will realize they are deeper than he thought. Skye on the other hand wants to prove herself to her boss and looks for a great article that will push her forward. She doesn’t fall too easy for the billionaire’s charms, and tries to maintain her independence till the end. I liked that she keeps her integrity till the end and doesn’t forget her objective. Both characters are very well built, both have clear objectives that never escape their mind.

I liked the book very much, though the ending seemed a little sudden. I also would have expected more than just the relationship between Skye and Marcus. With a very clean and easy writing, the characters’ actions seem casual and the romantic scenes are very nice as well! Can’t wait to read the next book in this series! Hope you like it too.
