What a disturbing book. I was not surprised by much in the book but it was interesting reading an "insiders" view on this dangerous administration. I am sending this book to my mom who expressed an interest in reading it. She is not a bookcrosser but I will encourage her to pass it on to someone else that wwould enjoy reading this. Thanx again for sharing with me. It was a faster read than I expected once I got into it. It was my bedside read but I wanted to finish it before I mailed packages to my mom in Denver so brought it to work tonight.

Now reading Obama's 2007 book and he cites Senator Byrd several times. Great dedication.

An in depth analysis of how Congress and the Bush administration have gotten to where we are at today. How 9/11 was the perfect opportunity for some money to be made by Bush and his cronies by attacking Iraq. It's about how policies and law changes came about and helped to make the US a hated country worldwide; how citizen rights have eroded; how we can have a president that can get away with out and out lies to the American people while the VP continues to take advantage financially of the war on terrorism.

Nothing new to anyone who's been paying attention, and the use of religion in the first section put me off a bit (and I believe in God), can only imagine how an atheist might take it. But he's spot on about our history and our duties to America, and what the role of Preseident should be an aspiration too, if not always a reality.

WV Senator Robert Byrd, the oldest and longest running Senator makes a big statement against the Bush administration. Full of facts that show Bush's carelessness in his presidency and the reason's Bush was never qualified to be president. This books makes a clear statement of what others have been to afraid to state. Senator Byrd makes no apologies for his views on the administration or the man. Byrd shows why Bush's policy is flawed and backs up his statements with facts. The man who has been a Senator since Truman makes a very good argument of the State of our Nation and how we are losing our original values under Bush. There are some long-winded areas, but the book is still an insightful, eye opening read.

Senator Byrd's antiwar screed, with some of his speeches. Not particularly spectacular, but readable.½
