After hearing the the author talk about crime in Detroit, at my local library, I had to read his book. He is very passionate and knowledgable about the subject. I, of course, had heard about Detroit during Prohibition, Jimmy Hoffa and other criminal events but was not aware of the extent of the Detroit underworld. Except for the series of child killings in Oakland county, the stories in this book are about organized crime. Because there are so many similar names (and nicknames) with members of the same families it is difficult to keep them straight.
