I learned about this book on cover artist Elin Manon's Instagram page and was attracted to her art and the title. I was not disappointed. This is an engaging blend of the mythology, language, history, and contemporary life of Wales. I was especially moved by the writing and events in the last few chapters (starting with chapter 40). Colorful additions include a comic strip by Yanto, of Y Cawr - The Giant and two newspaper articles at the very end. After finishing, I immediately ordered Jane Burard's second book in the series, The Cry of the Red Kite. I love that it was written and published in Wales.½
