Annette-Bruce grew up in a large family where daily stories were the norm. A native of Eustis, Florida, she founded the Cracker Storytelling Festival and co-founded the Florida Storytelling Guild and the Florida Storytelling Camp. She is the author of Tellable Cracker Tales and co-author of afficher plus Sandspun, also published by Pineapple Press. She was recently honored by the Florida Storytelling Association with the first Annette J. Bruce Lifetime Achievement Award for lifetime work in and for storytelling. - Annette Bruce grew up in a large family where daily stories were the norm. A native of Eustis, Florida, she co-founded The Florida Storytellers Guild, The Florida Storytelling Camp, and The Cracker Storytelling Festival, and was instrumental in starting The Stephen Foster Storytelling Festival. She has received a recognition award from the State House of Representatives and an Individual Fellowship from the Florida Department of State for her storytelling. She is also the recipient of the National Storytelling Association's 1996 Leadership Award for the Southeastern region.
